Welcome Back to Swansea for the 26/27 Academic Year!

September has come around again, and it is good to see Swansea busy with students again!

If you are new to the city, there is plenty to get to know. The university, the city centre, Uplands, Brynmill, the marina, Mumbles and, of course, the beach are all part of what makes living in Swansea so good.

If you have been here before, you will already have your favourite places. You will probably also have a few places that you still have not got around to trying.

Getting settled

If you have just moved into your Digs house, the first few days are usually about getting everything sorted.

There will probably be boxes everywhere, somebody will be trying to work out which cupboard is theirs and there will always be one person who forgot to bring something fairly important.

Get out and explore

It is easy to get into the same routine of university, home and nights out, especially once lectures get going.

Swansea has plenty more to offer, so make the most of it while you are here!

Take a walk along the seafront, head over to Mumbles, find a new coffee shop or grab some food somewhere you have never tried before.

You do not always need to spend much money either. A walk along the beach with your housemates can be just as good as an expensive day out.

And when the weather is good, which does happen in Swansea on occasion, there is no better place to be.

Get involved

If you are starting university this year, the first few weeks can be a great time to try something different.

Swansea University has a huge range of societies, sports clubs and activities, so even if you are not sure whether something is for you, it is worth giving it a go.

You might meet people you would never normally have crossed paths with, and you never know what you might end up getting involved in.

For those of you returning for another year, it is also worth trying something new. You might have been in Swansea for a couple of years and still have plenty of places left to discover.

Enjoy the year

There will be plenty of nights out, but there will also be plenty of quieter nights in with your housemates.

There will be busy weeks, lazy weekends, last minute plans and probably a few things that do not go quite how you expected.

That is all part of it.

It is good to have you all back!
